The instrument used during liposuction can also injure or destroy the lymphatic vessels within the targeted fatty tissue. Without the lymphatic vessels to drain away excess fluid and blood, the surgical site appears to swell, harden, and bruise. Through MLD massage, our team can provide relief for all the sufferings and unpleasant side effects of liposuction that were mentioned earlier.

During MLD treatment, a certified lymphedema therapist utilizes advanced techniques to activate your healthy lymph nodes and vessels. This procedure creates a suction effect that allows the accumulated fluids to transfer from one area to another that has normal lymphatic drainage. The goal is to reroute the stagnating fluid around blocked areas into healthy lymph vessels, eventually draining the fluid into the venous system.

Bruises are the accumulation of waste products and dead blood cells in the tissue. Manual Lymphatic Drainage can remove the dead cells and clear up bruises in a short period of time.

Research has shown that the MLD procedure significantly shortens the recovery time from plastic surgery. Instead of 9 to 18 months of recuperation, the process helps you heal within six weeks to three months.

During surgery, well-decongested tissues also help surgeons to see better, making it easier to do a clean cut and incision. Our team recommends at least one or two MLD procedures before your surgery. Through this process, we can drain toxins and excess fluids while facilitating the immune system. Ultimately, this prepares your body for surgery and advances the healing process.

It is advised to receive MLD immediately after the liposuction to initiate the healing process as soon as possible. MLD can be performed as soon as 24 hours after your surgery. However, you can still benefit from our treatment if you choose to start weeks or months after your procedure. This will help if you are still feeling hardness, swelling, or lumpiness occasionally. Many things can influence healing. For some clients, they only get around 1-6 treatments post-surgery, especially if the only area of liposuction was the legs, knees, or flanks. However, for patrons who get liposuction to the abdomen, 12 treatments are often suggested. For the first week after your operation, it is suggested to receive daily treatment or every other day. This gradually lessens as weeks go by.

There is no limit to doing any MLD massages. From young infants to early adults, we are more than happy to do a procedure for them. You wouldn’t need to undergo liposuction to be eligible for the treatment. We will take care of you from head to toe as we open all systems for draining!
